At present, the Republican Center for Pediatric Urology has the following units:
- urology unit for 60 beds;
- consultative and diagnostic unit (2 consulting rooms of urologist);
- operating unit for 3 operating rooms.
Annually, more than 2,500 children aged from newborn to 18 years receive qualified medical care at the center.
The diagnostic base of the department and the hospital meets all the modern requirements of pediatric urology. The latest laboratory, endoscopic, urodynamic, ultrasound, functional, radiological and X-ray equipment is used to examine children. The operating unit and the department of anesthesiology and resuscitation are equipped with modern endoscopic devices, surgical instruments and anesthetic and respiratory equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers, which allows performing surgical interventions, anesthesia and postoperative treatment for children of any age with minimal risk to the patient.
The center provides a wide range of conservative and surgical treatment for various urological diseases. The staff of the Center has accumulated vast experience in the treatment of malformations and diseases of the urinary system, using modern conservative and surgical methods. Many of the applied methods of surgical correction have been developed or improved in the clinic. In the urology unit, complex reconstructive and plastic surgeries are performed for congenital anomalies of the kidneys, bladder and external genital organs. When performing operations on the urinary tract, in most cases, endoscopic, laparoscopic and retroperitoneoscopic techniques are applied.
The urology department has an urodynamics room. The Urolad urodynamic system is designed to diagnose dysfunctions of the lower urinary tract. This device can perform the following procedures: uroflowmetry, uroflowmetry with EMG, cystometry, pressure / flow study, profilometry.It is possible to train the pelvic floor muscles in children, who has urinary disorders.
