The Gomel Regional Clinical Oncology Center
The Gomel Regional Clinical Oncology Center is the leading healthcare organization in the Gomel region, providing specialized high-tech care to patients with pre-tumor pathology and malignant neoplasms. The dispensary renders practically the whole spectrum of modern medical services for citizens of the Republic of Belarus and foreign citizens.
The history of the institution begins in 1948. The institution has 12 clinical inpatient departments with a bed capacity of 500 beds, anesthesiology and resuscitation department for 12 beds, a polyclinic department for 500 visits per shift, as well as treatment and diagnostic departments.
In the dispensary specialized treatment of cancer patients is carried out. Combined and complex treatment is widely used, which includes the use of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
The dispensary employs more than 950 employees: including more than 160 physicians, 340 nurses and 210 paramedical workers. The medical staff is represented by highly qualified specialists — oncologists-surgeons, radiologists, chemotherapeutists, 65 of them have the highest qualification category, one is a Doctor of Medical Sciences, five have a degree of PhD. Leading specialists of the dispensary obtained medical training in European clinics in Germany, Italy, France, the Czech Republic, Japan and are active members of the European School of Oncology.
The main direction is the provision of qualified oncological care, including:
- radiation diagnostics;
- radionuclide diagnostics;
- surgical interventions;
- reconstructive surgery;
- radiotherapy, including brachytherapy;
- chemotherapy;
- photodynamic therapy;
- radiofrequency ablation of tumor foci;
- radioiodine diagnostics and radioiodine therapy;
The institution is equipped with up-to-date devices, which allow establishing a diagnosis in the shortest possible time in the most difficult cases.
Inpatient treatment of patients is carried out with the use of modern medicines and methods of treatment in comfortable wards.
Every year more than 18,000 patients are provided by medical care in the hospital.
More than 8 thousand surgical interventions are carried out, including about 500 high-tech operations and more than 3 thousand complex surgical interventions.
Recently, there are a lot of patients from countries of near and far abroad, who underwent outpatient and inpatient treatment on a paid basis in a dispensary.
